Becoming a BCHC MEMBERProspective members of BCHC represent a wide cross-section of Backcountry enthusiasts. For that reason, our several membership TYPES, as well as the many Local Units situated throughout California provide a variety of choices to meet every Member's need.MEMBERSHIP is a simple, 3-step process: selecting a membership TYPE; determining Local Unit affiliation; and, submitting a Membership Application Form. STEP ONE: One of these Membership Types will be most suitable for you: STEP TWO: Select from the BCHC Local Units the one with which you will prefer to participate. You will probably want to participate with the group nearest either your residence or your favorite trails area. STEP THREE: Print out our online Application Form, ready for convenient mailing.

Individual Annual Dues: $40.00 Membership Type: Family (Shared) All immediate family members are included in Family (Shared) memberships, and are eligible to participate fully in BCHC and Local Unit activities; ONLY TWO adults from each Family (Shared) membership may vote during General Business meetings.
Family (Shared) Membership Annual Dues: $50.00 Membership Type: Benefactor All immediate family members are included in Benefactor memberships, and are eligible to participate fully in BCHC and Local Unit activities; ONLY TWO adults from each Benefactor membership may vote during General Business meetings. Benefactor members are encouraged to participate in such activities as our annual Spring Rendezvous, as well as the many activities of their selected Local Unit. (The Units also provide their affiliated members with news of local activities ... there's always something FUN happening in your area! One-year Membership includes subscriptions to our quarterly newsletter, BACKCOUNTRY NEWS, and to the newsletter of Backcountry Horsemen of America, also published quarterly. Benefactor Membership Annual Dues: $100.00 Membership Type: Patron
Patron Membership Annual Dues: $250.00 Membership Type: Mt. Whitney In the state of California, Mt. Whitney is about as high as you can go and still have touch with the ground. It is that hint that gave a name to our Mt. Whitney membership type; this group contributes generously to our effort. All immediate family members are included in Mt. Whitney memberships, and are eligible to participate fully in BCHC and Local Unit activities; ONLY TWO adults from each Mt. Whitney membership may vote during General Business meetings Mt. Whitney members are encouraged to in participate in such activities as our annual Spring Rendezvous, as well as the many activities of their selected Local Unit. Whitney Membership Annual Dues: $500.00 Membership Type: Associate Anyone desiring to contribute to and participate more actively in more than one BCHC Local Unit may wish to maintain one or more BCHC Associate Memberships. This Membership Type is available ONLY to persons already holding INDIVIDUAL, FAMILY (Shared), BENEFACTOR, PATRON or MT. WHITNEY membership in good standing.
